I believe in this: liberty presuppose free thinking, open minded, mature individuals who act responsible within their society and respect every other member recognizing their right to think and act different than them.

But we are talking about free thinking, open minded, mature individuals..

Greed and the lust for power are engrained deep in human nature.Some strongly some not so much.Therfore History is destined to repeat itself.

I'm not sure I entirely agree. I think most people are very willing to live and let live. Most people have a conscience. It's the ones who don't who drive and cause almost all the trouble in the world.

I hear ya, but I think greed is a natural human emotion. Some people learn to control it better, and learn that there are more important things...but it's still a part of who we are. IMO

Just got a robo call from the DNC.They want me to call my senator and tell him to vote to change the filibuster rules so the dem majority can pass bills without opposition. Our government has forgotten how it is supposed to work.I really fear the republic is lost.

as a libertarian, I pay a price every time I have to defend speech that I don't agree with, and may actually detest, from those that wish to limit its future use. I pay a price every time I am made to support "criminals" when the actions of the state violates the very same rights that I demand be applied to me.

how can I morally restrict the liberty, freedom, individuality of others and yet require that my liberty, freedom, and individuality be respected unquestioningly?

I may be many things, but I'm a slave to no man....

and I don't want anyone to be my slave, either.

What drives a man to a position where he can dictate how you live your life?
Or to take from you to give to another.Do you really think he does it for you.He does it to satisfy his need to control others.
It's not you or I that cause the troubles of the world.It is the ones on top the ones that feed the greed.(I knew who they where in high school should have kicked their asses then)

Greed is ever present. One of the most important things I've learned is to expect people to act in their own self interest. Which is one reason not to believe politicians who claim to be noble and selfless. They are lying.

Power over our lives is what they want,the more the better. And for some reason people love to give them what they want.

I still believe that psychopaths and related moral degenerates who gravitate to positions of power are the cause of nearly all the trouble in the world.

Normal people can't fight them because they can't see or believe it.
