I think it's a great thing for them to do. They are from different MA depts. I wouldn't mind if some LE from my area did this. There's worse things they spend our tax money on. And how to do we know the total expense is on the tax payer? These departments all have their own employee associations that do things for charity for kids.

At Christmas they have tags in briefing rooms for each LE to buy the item listed for "adopted" families & kids at Christmas. Also many departments through their police associations have the program where the cop actually meets the child at the store to buy them things at Christmas. And tax payer dollars aren't used for that. It's the employee associations that pay for that with money from dues and fund raisers.

Taxpayers paid for that--those cars, that $100k a year time, on the clock?
Let them do it on their own time, in their own cars--if in uniform, in publicly owned cars, they were just "working"--and you paid for it.
Just a photo op--now when they come back they'll get a pass the next time they kill someone's dog.

Exactly, how does that make other childern with cancer feel in each of those two states that they are not doing the same for them? Kids can become jealous (or even parents). In the pics, cops were driving suvs as well, where's regular cop cars in the pic.?

I do pray the boy feels better and enjoys their visit.
