Actually these conditions fit into "global warming". Its called warming because the warming is general in the whole globe. But connected to this are changes in weather that e.g. rains come in shorter and stronger periods. So you have long time of drought, then lot of water will fall. Similar with temperatures. Continental climate gets more continental (hot summers, cold winters).
