That's where the jet stream starts to shift up and where cold/warm air meets, so naturally there will be a convergence there. Why do you think they get some many tornado's there? It's because it's a convergence area, the results are as expected.

(What is at the center of the "Vortex"?) that looks like the current low pressure weather system that is moving north-east we are told here in montreal area that early saturday morning could possibly dump 2 feet of snow on us (we currently have 3 inches of snow on the ground) center of the vortex looks like that system the more moisture it gathers along the way and the more intense the winds picks up will just dump even more snow on us I better get my winter tires on now
