I don't agree that obama can "take away the arms" by any means. Yes. He said the US military killed 20 children today somewhere in the world didn't he? It was like he was saying as far as we know it could have been a military (? ours) who did the killing. Does our military really kill 20 children over seas in the middle east each day? I'm just stunned at that number. I guess we have just by having destroyed their infrastructure? The truth is that the U.S. military has killed thousands of non combatants intentionally and non intentionally in the wars in in Iraq and Afghanistan and by drone strikes in many other countries. There is a peculiar moral blindness that apparently won't allow this to be talked about. Is this the cause of our soldiers committing suicide? Many of them probably go to war naive as I was prior to 2010. Then when they are there, or return they realize the way the world really works on some level. I was a very naive US citizen....my relatives have cut me off in a lot of ways when I try to explain the US military is not always there to rescue the oppressed from a nasty dictator. American's just can't seem to face that.  I believe it is definitely a cause. And you are very definitely on the right fork in the road. |
