It is at the NW corner of the Nevada Test Site, and due East of Bishop, Ca., which is just south of the Mammoth Lakes Caldera. This is a hot area, with a lot of hot springs. It is very unusual to see this kind of activity here, and I have been following Earthquake maps for some time now. Something is about to pop. Very unusual. Get your preps ready, it is projected to be the coldest winter in modern history. Good luck. |

Ok...the 2.7 towards the bottom of this list is the only one that is outside of this swarm...although relatively close by. It is right between Tonopah and Mono Lake. I do believe it is connected to this swarm. [link to quakes.globalincidentmap.com] |

Abundant large lithic and juvenile blocks are present in the Spearhead Member within 0.5 km of this topographic margin but absent elsewhere in the ash-flow sheet, consistent with eruption from vents in the Stonewall Mountain area. |

It looks to be in some sort of magma field. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 297849 Most people just watch silently until it really gets going. It does seem there's something brewing under there, doesn't it. That rouge 2.7 makes think of magma movement. Link to running 24 Hour Helicorder display: [link to krypton.seismo.unr.edu:8090] |

Quoting: DonnerPartyofAte Get your preps ready, it is projected to be the coldest winter in modern history. Good luck. Your name gives you away. Ya never know with these swarms. Remember just a couple months ago south of the Salton Sea, the Brawley swarm? It went crazy for a few days....then nothing. The Hawthorne swarm went on for almost 4 months. Lots of starts and stops. Produced a 4.6 as the largest quake out of that swarm. This one could be connected to the Hawthorne area if it turns out to be magma movement. |

I had like three hours sleep before I was up and back in my office. But have been checking in periodically. Still feel like a good size rumbler coming in that area. Quoting: Zaphenath-Paneah I know, I know. Good morning! I have to get going. Last day I dare go out before Christmas. It's about to get crazy. Wait. What am I talking about? It was crazy around here two weeks ago. I don't suppose I'd be watching so intently if I wasn't from Nevada. |
