Marine fossils found in southern Peru

Chivay, Dec. 19 (ANDINA). Marine fossils were found 4,000 meters above sea level in the province of Caylloma, in Peru’s southern region of Arequipa, Mayor Elmer Caceres said.

Forty fossils, such as winkles, shells, limpets and turtle shells were found.

Caceres urged Arequipa's Regional Directorate to do some research in the area to determine scientifically the fossils' age.

The exact location has not been announced yet to prevent looting.

The fossils, which were discovered by a group of farmers from Caylloma, remain in the town hall and authorities expect to find a museum to display these pieces.

(END) RMC/JOT/RZZ/MOC

Once the ages of the fossils is known, we can then know that the moutains were under the sea at that time

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The latest expeditions to ice caps in the high, tropical Peruvian Andes Mountains by Ohio State University scientists may shed light on a mysterious global climate change they believe occurred more than 5,000 years ago.

They hope that ice cores retrieved from two tropical ice caps there, as well as ancient plants retrieved from beneath the retreating glaciers, may contain clues that could link ancient events that changed daily life in South America, Europe and Asia.

Something happened 5,200 years ago that was abrupt and very large-scale, explained Lonnie Thompson, professor of geological sciences at Ohio State and researcher with the Byrd Polar Research Center.

i live in PA and there is a local park n Philly where i've often found sea shells at the highest points. it's not exactly mountainous but the elevation is certainly very high compared to anything within many miles. it's the wissihicken park, for those of you around here.

Marine Fossils on 'top' of the Andes Mountains. More than 500 giant fossilized oysters were found 3000 meters (about 2 miles) above sea level in Peru in 2001 by Arturo Vildozola, palaeontologist with the Andean Society of Paleontology.

Not just that but mainstream science is all purposely designed to make everyone feel comfortable, more or less. The whole idea of evolution is that geologic changes occur very slowly over time (wind and rain erosion mostly with some earthquakes thrown in for good measure).

This makes people feel comfortable in their pens, the sheep must feel comfortable in their pen so they can continue their happy blissfully ignorant lives, portions of which are sheared off periodically to feed their masters.

Cataclysmic geology is always ridiculed by mainstream science since it flies in the face of a "comfortable" and slowly changing world we live in. All you need to do is look carefully at our world and discoveries like this to see that this world is anything but predictable and "safe".

Ive found fossils in a cliff at about 7000 feet in NV

Nothing new and not confined to there. I have hunted way up in the moutains in Wyoming, riding on horseback along shale covered moutainsides and seeing embedded in the pieces many fossiles from seabeds.

consider soil erosion is at the rate of feet per thousand years... do you really think we would have fossils millions and millions of years old?

they would have long ago been eroded away... plus no modern fish fossils due likely to rapid rate of decay of fish...

examples of fish fossils w other fish in mouth imply rapid event like a flood...

no rivers in the world with more than around 5,000 years worth of silt at the deltas...

no evidence for the massive "erosion" of the Grand Canyon at the river mouth also implies this did not occur over millions of years...

complexity of genes... remnants of dinosaurs in places like congo swamp... etc etc

Exactly, and where does the funding come from to continue research? As in all cases one just needs to follow the money trail to learn about motive, in this case its all about societal control and of course wealth for the controllers.

There are marine fossils at the foot of mount Everest.

Has nothing to do with water level.

Mount Everest was pushed up from sea level by plate tectonics.

Any good geologist will tell you that...

The mountains are only about 200M years old. Look at this model of the earth and allow the water in the oceans to remain the same in volume, as the current ocean basins close up the water would be pushed up onto what we now have as dry land. From 200MYA to far previous to that the places that had not yet been uplifted would have been shallow seas.

Alberta has mountains and plains, the plains are currently 2,000 ft above sea level and rather than being uplifted like the mountains on the west side, the waters receded as room was made available by the spreading oceanic rifts.
