They absolutely will have to put heat trace on these cables now - Even if this was a freakish storm with rapid temperature changes and high winds - DUH! That's what the West Coast IS in winter. I'm so disgusted that all of the well-paid engineers failed to see something so painfully obvious or purposely overlooked it to save costs. If I was one of the people almost stabbed to death by icicles today I'd be lawyering up - easy Class Action Lawsuit. |

That bridge problem is so simple a lay person can understand, the reason to make sure the cables are protected for cold icy weather. Building fall because of engineering getting in a hurry and not keeping safety in mind. There are to many things that aren't being engineered right, that I wonder if the universities and colleges are teaching these people right. |
