Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7631061 Plus my laptop is ancient and probably can't handle the processor overhead, let alone the hard drive space. Eh, you are a amature astronomer and yet cant afford a proper laptop or desktop pc which a good 2tb hdd costs £78. Or you could buy a good external HDD with 4TB of space for £149. Dunno about you but the 1st thing I would be doing with a good telescope is recording the planets on a daily basis. Oh I do a lot of planetary recording, I just break it up into smaller files whenever possible and save it to my tb drive on my desktop over the wireless network. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9732769 Honestly I'm fed up. I'm done with these regular webcasting/streaming sites that don't understand or specialize in astronomy, period. I can be targeted on any one of them by a zetatard who reports my content as "inappropriate" or a "copyright violation" and they'll shut me down and ask questions later if I'm lucky. From now on it's night skies network or bust. There's no recording function which is why I've avoided it for things like this (plus the regulars there will not be too happy about a bunch of GLP'ers showing up), but I'll point my desktop at the site and record it separately.
