Because in March of this year I flew to Cancun, rented a car and drove to Xcaret to find me some Mayans... Sure nuff I found me some 100% bona-fide Mayans and they weren't the least bit worried. I then drove to Tulum to the Archaeological dig site there and spoke to a Mayan Photographer who was on assignment for Nat Geo... Once again they thought it was laughable that the gringos were freaking out over nothing. Don't get me wrong... the Mayan Descendants at Xcaret do exploit this fear to sell their "Mayan Carnival" show that they put on nightly. But long story short... IF THE PEOPLE THIS ORIGINATED FROM DON'T CARE... Joe Sixpack is Sheboygen, Wisconsin shouldn't even know the date exists. It's turtles all the way down. |
