he did it to reensure the children they were safe and protected.. no matter what the danger.....(regardless)... dad will always be there....

i applaude his bravery, as ex-military he probably knew that he couldn't do anything, and maybe die if he did.. that is true bravery and the escence of a soldier... like it or not....

Thank you for what you said, we haven't heard many kind words for other countries people lately. I really appreciate you honoring a guy who would guard his daughters school to make her feel safe, you sound like you might be a good dad or mom.

I don't know who is playing the opposite sex on here. I do wish they would be who they are.

That is true, he probably would be the first one shot.

However consider these factors.

A military person trained for combat will be better at recognizing threats then civilians, probably better even then some law enforcement depending on the environment. He is there to be vigilant, and that is a big deal. Folks looking to pull off a killing spree are looking for ZERO resistance, they want complete surprise.

Second and more importantly, marines are fully prepared to be shot and killed to protect another person, in fact that's what they do. Even if he were shot first, right outside the school, it would still give the people inside more reaction time. They would have more time to lock the doors and employ whatever response they have.

Its heartbreaking for sure that sometimes people die violently at the hands of evil people. This will probably always be a part of the human experience. We, and I mean everyone alive today is damn lucky that there are people like this father out there who are brave enough to stand up and take a hit so that others may prevail.
