Storms and weird wind in Texas!

Must be Lubbock dust blowing in . . .

it was odd. This is ture.

Hell yea I walked outside at 5:40pm and looked up to the sky and saw what looked like 2 scrolls laying side by side that was crossing the entire sky as far as I could see and thats long here in West Texas. Then 15 mins later the sky was pink and gray toward the sun set and this also at 6pm when I get in my truck to go home its has been light outside the last 2 days but before it has been dark and it was a scary gusting wind

Right now, the winds are as consistently strong as I've ever known them to be . . . howling and whirling . . . it is truly weird.

eArlier this morning i was moving pipe and it was calm cold and strangely cloudy. then at lunch is when the dirt blizzard came thru. iam close to lubbock and they had to close i-27 and highway84. there was a 7 car pile up and a few other accidents. it is still windy here and we are suppose to have another day like that tomorrow.

The wind is shaking the house here in Austin, TX. It has really picked up in the last hour, no rain though.

Yeah, I know . . . really I don't recall the wind blowing this hard for so long . . . trees are bending, lots of creaking sounds!

wind s howling up here on Haleakala for several days now... trees down, power was out and no let in in sight.

Guys, I don't know if it will last as long for you, but here in the Lubbock area, it blew for over 12 hours. It's finally come down some about an hour ago. We had some gusts around 70 mph earlier this afternoon.

Windy in Texas...Oh my, better grab my bug out gear. It's too bad somebody hasn't created a structure that provides clean electricity from all that wind. Oh wait....

Seriously get real with this BS. Strange wind in Texas? Next thing you know people will be posting about how weird it is to have cold weather in Russia this time of the year.

I am in Port Arthur, I noticed the gusty winds also. Thought maybe it was just me. Not abnormal per se, but also not ...... normal.

You're entitled to your opinion, but if I or other posters declare this wind event to be strange, then so be it.

First of all, it is NOT winter yet.

Second, the storms were severe with a tornado watch in the counties bordering OK.

And these winds have been extra strong, red skies, hazy.

If you find this all to be so trivial, go to another thread.

As a native I know the types of weather that occur in Texas. I just find this particular wind event to be rather odd due to strength and consistency.

It is, really swirling and howling . . . it's blown stuff around the neighborhood.
