No. No. No.

The moon isn't upside down.

The sun didn't set to the East.

The sun is changing the way it spends its fuel.

Making it brighter.

SE US here - I paid attention to it today after reading the long post about it yesterday, and I really couldn't tell much (if any) difference.

I'm not sure exactly how long twilight is, but sunset was supposed to be between 4:30 and 4:40pm today.. At about 5:30 it was nearly completely dark. I don't know if that's normal or not though.

Not a good thing really. I think its do to that High energy particle magnetic ribbon that IBEX has been tracking.

Re: Did the sun set later than normal today?
My dad said it set too late yesterday and he's a TV couch-potato zombie. We were at the docs for my daughter and he tends to wait in the car. He was taking me to work today at about 3:30pm and he just casually said, "The sky was really weird last night." And I said, "Whattya mean?" (He never goes outside in the dark...ever!) He said, "Well it set really late-it was still all lit up and it should have been dark but it wasn't. and he was right cause I took a pic of the sky when we got out of the docs and had to be at least 5:15pm. While he was driving I noticed the sun was still above the horizon. Very weird. I did notice at work it was still pretty light outside when I went to take a break at 5:35pm. When I got back it was just starting to get gloomy. Weird.

VERY weird. So then how come some people notice this and others say it's normal where they are? I would think it would be noticable everywhere. I wonder if climate is affecting these observations...

Re: Did the sun set later than normal today?
For many years, going back as far as I can remember, this was always the darkest time of the year right before winter solstice... here on the east coast USA... sunset was very early in December... like 4:30-4:40pm...which is not supposed to change till AFTER the winter solstice.

Yet, for the past week or so, the sun has been setting much later than expected and normal... around 5:10-5:15pm.

So, a shift in the sun set of roughly 30 minutes, out of the norm and ahead of schedule. Consider for a moment the POWER of what could cause that change.

damned

Re: Did the sun set later than normal today?
It appears that the sunset times are correct but the observed extension of visible light and the extended time needed for artificial light may be due to increased luminosity of the Sun.

So the "illusion" that the Sunset is later is just that but the noted extension of visible light is NOT an illusion but observation of a true anomaly.

So in conclusion the orbital status of the Sun and Earth are correct but the Sun has become so much brighter that the radiated energy is extending or diffusing into the atmosphere far beyond the norm and therefore illuminates the sky well beyond the norm.

So...the Sun may be going into a hyper state of illumination at this time.

If this is the case...look out!

I read the thread yesterday and intentionally watch for the time that the sunset.

However, I will concur that the sun is more bright than I have ever seen it. I have played tennis all my life (42 yrs) and I can hardly serve the ball without being totally blinded. Even with sun glasses and a ball cap the white brightness of the sun is too much!

Hey Da Fuq sorry to stalk you onto this thread ha hope the trolls don't follow us from the other thread and terrorize these people. But did you see the article about the magnetic highway? If not I have a link very interesting indeed..

"Happiness consumes itself like a flame. It cannot burn for ever, it must go out, and the presentiment of its end destroys it at its very peak."

How strange ! Last night my sister came over, I only see her once or twice a month, we were having a few beers and she said
"Why is it still light outside?"
I think it was almost 5pm.
We live in W.A.State and Canada is a stones throw away from us.
And now reports from all over the country about the same thing!
I forgot to pay attention tonight as we were so busy but I will be obseving more closely tomorrow.
