I think its do to that High energy particle magnetic ribbon that IBEX has been tracking. Hey Da Fuq sorry to stalk you onto this thread ha hope the trolls don't follow us from the other thread and terrorize these people. But did you see the article about the magnetic highway? If not I have a link very interesting indeed.. Yeah I have seen it. NASA claimed we would not make contact for another 100 years. (lie) Voyager has already made contact, soon so will we. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 30374785 United States 12/20/2012 12:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It appears that the sunset times are correct but the observed extension of visible light and the extended time needed for artificial light may be due to increased luminosity of the Sun. Quoting: PIR So the "illusion" that the Sunset is later is just that but the noted extension of visible light is NOT an illusion but observation of a true anomaly. So in conclusion the orbital status of the Sun and Earth are correct but the Sun has become so much brighter that the radiated energy is extending or diffusing into the atmosphere far beyond the norm and therefore illuminates the sky well beyond the norm. So...the Sun may be going into a hyper state of illumination at this time. If this is the case...look out! That is a spooky theory ! |

Da fuq User ID: 16258666 United States 12/20/2012 01:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok here is what I have personally observed the past several days after recognizing the recent posts about this. I am located in southeastern Michigan. Every night I get out of work at 5:30 EST. A co-worker drops me off at home 3-4 nights a week. I arrive promply at 5:45 in my driveway, every time she drops me off. About 3-4 weeks ago she made a comment, "Wow, your house is so dark." I told her I know, I usually turn my porch lights on as soon as I get home because it is very dark here. When she made that comment I recalled vividly that is was DARK DARK out and clear out. Just 2 weeks ago I commented to her this time "man my house really is dark without the lights on huh?". There was no twilight left at all, and with my porch lights off it made my home outline and yard very dark, and difficult to see. Now, today rolls around and the same routine... pulled in at 5:45. Immediately as I was getting ready to exit the car I said wow thats weird. It was definitely still twilight out... not much though. But noticeably lighter, enough to where I could see the outline of my house against the sky very easily, and I noticed that finding my keyhole was much easier than weeks prior. Usually I fumble with getting the key to fit, my porch overhang really gets dark underneath. So, YES the evening sky has began to lighten up already. Very strange seeing how it should be continuing to darken at least until tomorrow. And I have already ruled out overcast/clear skys for a possible reasoning for the early lightening, it was always crystal clear and cold out the nights it was dark when I arrived home. I might have noticed this earlier this week, however the skys HAVE been overcast all week, the skies finally cleared up this afternoon allowing me to notice I think. This might be something to really pay attention to here. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12392505 We have a winner. |

I'll try to observe it more closely until 12/21 and thereafter, I can't make any promises of posting any updates if you catch my drift. |

The past 3 years I have noticed the Sun setting in the extreme NW near summer solstice and extreme SW during winter solsice which I know its normal... however not to the extreme N and S ward trek. Its almost as if the earths axial tilt is increasing, or precession is becoming more noticeable with more earth wobble. It would explain the so called odd lunar path and axis people are claiming to see, and the suns trajectory. It would also explain why the so called magnetic NP is drifting more NW at and incredible rate (I think the EARTH is physically moving not the magnetic poles which are linked w the sun and staying in place. They seem as if they are drifting to us from a fixed position. The earth and sun are magnetically linked together, if the sun changes its polarities every solar maximum then the Earth would definitely have feel the direct effect through the magnetosphere wouldnt it?) They say the recent large quakes are changing the earths axis right? Well maybe the EARTH is shifting on its axis and that is causing the quakes we feel??? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 29930942 United States 12/20/2012 02:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok, here is the long answer and I added a little Mayan science for fun... What is happening is that if you live in the northern hemisphere of our little world then the sun has been setting further south every day since the first day of summer about 6 months ago, the summer solstice, also known as the longest day of the year and the day that our star reaches the highest point in the sky at noon... The amount of daylight hours has been getting shorter for everyone in the northern hemisphere since that day and Friday the 21st is the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice or the day that the sun reaches the lowest point in the sky at noon... After Friday, the days will become longer and the sun will start setting further north every day for the next 6 months... For those in the southern hemisphere, like the Hobbits in New Zealand, everything is opposite. Friday will be the longest day of the year and the beginning of their summer. This cycle has been repeating for a long time every year and it happens because our blue world is both spinning with a tilt and orbiting the sun at the same time... It gives us the seasons, defines our years and we use it use to mark our calendars... Now, here is the Mayan science... The earth also rotates the axis it is spinning about, just like a top, but very slowly in a pattern of motion called axial precession... It takes the earth about 26,000 years to rotate its axis just once... To see a little of the cycle of this motion, you would have to look to where the sun is about to rise on the same day each year and you would see that it rose into a groups of stars that appear shifted a very small amount from the year before... over the years it would continue to shift thru groups of stars - the constellations that make up the zodiac... It would move thru these in a pattern that reverses itself every 13,000 years, a complete cycle of about 26,000... This cycle has been repeating for a long time and is expected to keep repeating for a long time... The Mayans apparently added this cycle to their calendar because they watched the sky a lot and were smart enough to notice it and measure it. They were good astronomers. |

Official sunset in the Toronto area is 4.43 PM, east was getting really dark, but west was strongly illuminated till 5.15 PM, slowly fading away about 5.30 PM. It looks more like the Pane Androv's - Red Giant Star theory: start watching at 40 min. mark. |

I posted the same kind of personal observation "proof" and some people tried to argue with me, when I KNOW I was right. Also, as I think no one will dispute, the sun is supposed to set earlier (and, therefore, getting dark earlier) up until the 20th or 21st of December (winter solstice) and then gradually start getting darker later. Yet, over and over, and I am reading that the solstice timing this year is "off." |
