HOW THE GUN GRAB COULD GO DOWN

I have been looking for the link to where I read this the other day but can't find it. Think it was somebody's blog.
Anyway, this is a synopsis.

Here's how it might happen: An order for people to turn in guns to local police for a modest amount of money --probably just certain guns at first, with a time limit maybe 3 to 6 months.

During this time period they'd get databases of registered gun owners coordinated & they would obtain all the paperwork from dealers for the last 6 months.

The BATF would be entering turn-in data on weapons received so far and might offer one last chance to turn in your guns with no penalty--which would be a hefty fine or jail or both. Roadblocks here and there --TSA checkpoints-- might be looking for the banned guns during this time and enjoying increased opportunities to cop a feel..

There would probably be too many guns for them to do a house to house or targeted personal gun grab at this point. Rewards would be offered for turning in gun owners. They would start writing letters to those known or suspected to have banned guns.

They might involve the IRS in the enforcement part of this as Obamacare does. More letters. Sooner or later they will withhold tax refunds, threaten liens, garnishments and seizure of bank accounts and property. They could have your drivers license suspended.

The burden of proof that one no longer has the weapons in question will be on the taxpayer/gun owner, since that's how the IRS rolls. Proof might (or might not) be copies of ads placed where the gun was sold, bill of sale, police report of theft, insurance claim when the gun fell overboard out of your boat, etc.

At some point in time---maybe as long as a year? they will start paying visits to those not in compliance. It will not be pretty as they tear out walls, dig up yards, dismantle cars, use metal detectors and whatever high tech snoop crap they have, not only on the suspected gun owner but maybe on his friends' neighbors' and relatives' houses if nothing is found.

Then they will step up the arrests and prosecutions. God knows what happens after that. As more guns are added to the banned list this whole process could continue onward for years.

Wish I could find that blog where this was; will post it in a separate thread when I do.
