Combine this map and the graph of temps and this could be the 'warm-up for what next week brings. Snow piled up against a house wall actually acts as insulation. (or a dumpster tipped on it's side and a crawl space for the entrance an a tint vent in the top to let the candle fumes out. Putting a tin-can over the flame makes 4x as much heat as a flame without the can.

Power is on in my neighbourhood.
It's cold, 17F and very windy. But SUNNY!
Lots of limbs falling, people walking in the streets to avoid falling branches.
Many rural roads are impassable due to drifts, some even in the city.
I am sore as hell from all the shoveling. ;-`)

I'll bet you are sore, you've been doing it for two days! We got a dusting (maybe an inch), but it's very cold and windy here. Wind gusts over 60 mph. I wish it would have snowed a little more, but not like you all have! Be safe, my friend.

Interesting to see how this fresh snow cover affect subsequent air masses moving south from Canada. This will like keep modification of cold air very low thus meaning colder air moving south.
