And, Christians aren't supposed to cuss like sailors! And how are parents gonna protect their children when an armed lunatic barges into a school? As far as I know parents don't attend school with their kids. Oh and spare me the cussing crap. Gee,how about you raise and educate your own children at home? Nothing about modern, Government institutional education (actually programming) is needed. Lets face it, the majority do it because they want time away from their children so they can work or do what they want. I have spent a good amount of time de-programing and "unlearning" the crap "they" taught me as truth in public schools. It is an institution after all. So education is gonna stop bullets from flying? From what I've read the Sandy Hook shooter was highly intelligent. And let's say u do homeschool. What happens if an armed lunatic breaks into your home? And teachers following proper lockdown procedures combined with armed personell do protect our kids. There have been very few cases of school shootings in texas since the 1800's. The 2 of most note to this topic are of course the clock tower massacre. And the sad events that happend in brownsville texas where and 8th grader attacked a few kids at random in classrooms by punching/kicking them then pulled out a pellet gun and raised it at the police officers that responded, after several atempts to get the boy to lay down his unidentified weapon they officers shot and killed the boy. The parents while distraught over what happend never actualy sued the school or officers. Since that incident officers and teachers are taught to only shoot to kill perpatrators that are activley engaging targets. |

Uh, part of my education at home IS firearms training, as well as construction, woodworking, welding, fire building, wood cutting, and on and on and on. There is NOTHING my children need in public school and the only reason cops would be called to my home is to write the report on why there is was dead fool who thought he could harm anyone in my family. Again, your stand on government intrusion on the right to keep and bare arms is the issue. Yes, teachers should be able to voluntarily carry in schools, yes the school should provide professional training. And please stop bringing up "Facts" about the supposed shooter in Sandy HK, there are so many holes in the official story it should not even be considered as a factual basis for any intelligent discussion on the subject. |

Many schools in Texas have always done this. It has always been allowed. Not long ago guns were carried to church. High school students carried rifles in their trucks to school loaded, never in thirty five years in our district did we have a shooting, hmmm. The schools in Texas that did have problems were non gun carrying. We are safe as long as we are armed to protect the innocent against predators. Other wise we are at their mercy, in which most have no mercy. |

Back when I was a kid people brought guns to school all the time. A lot of kids had gun racks in their pickups. We usually brought a shotgun in our vehicles during dove season so we could go dove hunting after school. Hell if you sold enough sausage and fruit in Ag class you could win a 12ga pump shotgun as the top prize. The coaches, shop teachers and ag teachers were the same way, they always had rifles or shotguns in their offices or in their vehicles during hunting season, we would even compare guns with the teachers for Christ's sake... No one ever came and tried to shoot up our school...why, because we had the ability to return fire... Quoting: smilesun In remote Harrold, the nearest sheriff's office is 30 minutes away, and people tend to know - and trust - one another. So the school board voted to let teachers bring guns to school. "We don't have money for a security guard, but this is a better solution," Superintendent David Thweatt said. "A shooter could take out a guard or officer with a visible, holstered weapon, but our teachers have master's degrees, are older and have had extensive training. And their guns are hidden. We can protect our children." BRAVO to them. |

Yeah he did his shooting in a security area where they weren't allowed to have weapons...not like he tried that shit on the rifle range buddy... If you notice, the shooters with the highest body counts have always done their shooting in the "Gun Free" zones. Laughner and the Portland Mall Shooter could have been infinitely worse, but for the fact armed citizens detered them from continuing the shooting... Lanza struts into the main Sandy Hook school hallway heavily armed and body armored, a modern day "Rambo" meets "Psycho" if you will. Then six teachers and a principal all emerge from classroom doors, three on each side of the hallway and the principals office at the far end of the hallway. The Magnificent 7, if you will, are all packing Magnum 500 hand cannons. I think the story would have ended a bit differently. |
