TREASURY SELLS $14 BILLION OF TIPS AT RECORD LOW NEGATIVE YIELD.

It's not just the government, it is the entire financial industry that represents almost 15% of GDP (maybe more). 40 years ago, that same industry comprised maybe 5-6% of GDP. However, as we offshored our manufacturing we made up in the difference in debt, with a negative trade deficit for over 30 years we consumed far more than we produced. That difference was debt.

The financial services industry operates on debt, debt derivatives and related paper imaginings. It is in their own best interest to manipulate numbers to spur consumer confidence into whipping out their credit cards and buying stuff they don't need with money they don't have, especially at Christmas time.

The grand ponzi continues, really it is amazing to watch how long they can keep the whole thing going on such twisted fabrications. I guess it just goes to show that earning money the old fashioned way is dead like the dinosaur. Why earn something, produce something, when you can just lie about it all?
