i love my state - TN to secretly arm teachers

It is only a matter of time before Canada has its first horrific outrage for reasons to numerous to mention - it will happen in a town near you....tic toc

I fail to see even the slightest connection between my post and the reply to it... it gives the impression that the poster has severe autism.

Arming teachers while not inherently a bad idea has LOTS of problems.

Will the guns be locked up but available to the teacher?

Will they be openly carried?

Will the teacher REALLY be trained to be accurate when firing under pressure (MOST police, who have continual recurrent training, TOTALLY MISS when engaged in a gun battle, even when only 15 feet away - seems being shot BACK at detroys one's concentration and aim)

What will schools do if an ARMED TEACHER goes off the deep end and shoots someone who is unarmed, but who they claim they "thought" was armed?

What will schools do if an ARMED TEACHER shoots students, particularly unruly students who are in a major league fight? (in my older son's middle school the fights sometimes got so bad not even ALL the male teachers on staff working in unison could break them up and they had to await the police to show up and start pepper spraying and tasering people in order to end the fight)

LOTS of potential problems and potentially MORE shooting in schools than caused by outsiders coming in if weapons are available and NOT under the control of the Principal or Office.

Our State Attorney General yesterday said it was OK under out laws IF the local school board set out a policy AND the guns were KEPT LOCKED UP but quickly available to TRAINED teachers or staff, people who have been through the full Peace Officer Training/Certification Program. (which is a LOT more involved than just a CCW Permit)

Why are they so unable to think beyond guns?

Arm up guard with long bows as a first line of defence and there is no risk of anyone else grabbing the weapon and causing a weapon because by the time they've loaded their next shot, all the kids are on the school bus on their wa home.

But if some jerk, probably from Tennessee, walks in for some fun killing kids, he'll (of she'll if it's a sickos from Tennessee) face being crippled by a bunch of guards aiming at just one target - him.

In 52 years I have never, never met a single person from Tennessee who isn't a thick, ignorant, aggressive primadonna, obsessed with shallow bunk - it's like the bottom of the human barrel down there. My wife is a public school teacher here in Tennessee.

She has a carry permit and is 100% on board with this. She is going to contact our country sheriff and state representatives to see how she can become involved in getting this legislation passed.

Finally, common-sense laws. Only the people who want our children in danger are opposed to this. I don't know why it's so hard for these anti-gun lunatics to understand.

Quite frankly I am amazed at the sort of guns that can be bought over the counter in the US. It is no wonder mass shootings like this happen.

That has got to be the most stupid thing I have ever heard the long bow was lucky to go through 1/16 inch of steel. A long bow with a 60 lb pull shoots a 540 grain arrow 185 fps which equals 40.9 ft/lbs of energy a .22 long rifle stinger has 190 ft/lbs of energy and a 5.56x45 has around 1300 ft/lbs. the only advantage is a arrow has sharp tips.
You need to look at history a hand cannon which wasn't much more than a pipe with a hole in it tied to a stick made them obsolete.
