Dan: 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
This is an account of last-day events. This is the other half of the two prophetic books which unlock each other. It would certainly seem to be mirroring what is happening in that region as we speak. Thus far, it certainly appears that those three regions (even though there is some talk among certain circles that there is danger there of falling along with the other "Arab Spring" nations) are "relatively stable". Egypt and Libya (the two most surprising nations to fall in the manner they did) are mentioned in verse 42 and 43, and "he" (the "king" mentioned earlier in the chapter) "will do according to his will".
Now, it would certainly appear that it is "Islam" who is "speaking marvelous things against the God of gods" and "shall magnify himself above all" and "shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done." (time of judgement--margin).
Islam could certainly be called one who "honors the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not". In the Seventh Day Adventist understanding of the history behind all of this, it is really ROME who is pulling all the strings in the background--honoring their gods "with gold, and silver, and with precious stones and pleasant things."
Satan is a master manipulator and these events immediately precede Chapter 12 which states: "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation".
Edom may not exist as a nation, but it certainly seems to have a central role in the area IN LAST DAY EVENTS.
The book by Uriah Smith titled "Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation", a historical treatise on the role of Islam, the influences of Rome on its beginnings, is an excellent resource on the major players during this period (of which we seem to be in the middle of). It is online and can be read at your leisure. We need FACTS before we can make honest conclusions about these things. Our salvation may DEPEND on it.

THE NATIVE CULTURE'S OF THE NEW WORLD LIKE THE COLUMBIANS WHO WERE IN ISRAEL BEFORE 1492 AND FORCED TO CONVERT TO ROMAN CATHOLICISM. THEY WERE SLAVES BEFORE THE AFRICANS WERE. THIS IS THE REAL DECEPTION OF WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING TO THE TRUE BLOODLINE OF ISRAEL THIS DAY AND AGE. THE AGE OF DISCOVERY IS WHEN THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH WERE POPULATED WITH ISRAELITE SLAVES, EVEN BEFORE THE AFRICAN SLAVES. Actually, it is you who have things backwards, but I wouldn't expect anything different than this coming from a "sacred namer" such as yourself. Any simple google search shows that sacred namers such as yourself twist the scriptures to show your "revisionist history". ANY scholar of the original languages show the ignorance of how you all come to your "sacred names" of the Father and the Son both by thinking that you actually have a grasp of the language when, more than likely, you glean your information from some concordance or similar reference material that only gives limited insight into the language itself. Sacred namers such as yourself paint yourselves into a corner with your exclusivity. Your reasoning is woefully inadequate and dangerous. Who crucified our Savior? It was ROME. Who did Rome choose to lead the nation? It was none other than HEROD who was SYRIAN. Who were the the priests of the nation? They were hand-picked cronies of ROME, the original priests were all MURDERED by ROME. It was Rome who salivated over Jerusalem and USED Islam (which was HEAVILY influenced by Jesuits--the ONLY "Christian" influence in the time of Mohammed)to invade Israel to get what they wanted in the first place; and then sent in the Crusaders to "liberate" the Holy Land. It is ROME who has the only extraterritorial status in Jerusalem and PRIMED to set up its THRONE in the Temple and proclaim itself as God (which it already does as "God's Vicar"). You only see the "red letters" as the words of Christ. THE WHOLE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF CHRIST. You can't just pick and choose what is REALITY. He has innumerable names--most of which you seem to be totally unaware of. You try to limit God and bring Him down to YOUR standard. Our God is a SELF-REVEALING GOD. In Heaven, He even has a NEW NAME that only HE knows. He gives US names that only WE know. Take the challenge. Google what the SCHOLARS say about Sacred Namers. They don't paint you in a very good light. I've yet to see anything to disprove them.
