We now have cops at the doors to all of the schools. I had already planned on probably keeping them home tomorrow anyway though. "Imagine no possessions" "As Above, So Below" )O( Rach |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 25672410 12/20/2012 10:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My kids are grown now, things like that didn't happen then but there was one time there were rumors about a huge gang fight planned the next day. I kept them home from school. There was a riot that day but was quickly stopped when police showed up. There is something to be said about rumors and threats and I would not take the chance. |

My childrens' school isn't one of them, but I kept them home nonetheless. Family says I'm overeacting. But my thoughts are that the lunatics will be out in full force and there's no such thing as being over-cautious when it comes to my kids. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1546755 12/20/2012 11:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't even hesitate to keep your kids home from school. Better to be safe than sorry these days. I'm sure many of the other parents will do the same. With all the hype about 12/21/12, the nuts may come out of the woodwork - best to keep your children safe and especially what happened in Connecticut, God bless them all and their families. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 17431247 12/20/2012 11:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I homeschooled last year but this year I put my kids in a public school and they really love it so even though I'd like to homeschool them, I feel it would be unfair to them. If there is another major school shooting I may just decide to homeschool them regardless. The only issue I would have is not being able to work outside the home so homeschooling would mean we'd have a lot less money and it's already tight. My kids' school is closed tomorrow. I'm sure this is Mayan doom related. They have never, in my memory, had an early release on Thurs with no school on Friday. |
