Man isn't that the truth....grew up and my best friends dad had a very cool rifle collection....not assault weapon types but hunting rifles from around the world....the tax is so high here per weapon it forced him to sell off most of his possessions!!! Was a damn shame too!!! Quoting: Nexus-9 Let Teachers Carry Guns? Some State Lawmakers Say Yes By Mark Memmott published on Wed December 19, 2012 12:52 pm There are reports from a variety of states about local lawmakers who want to give teachers the right to bring guns to school. They're making the case that school shootings such as the one Friday in Newtown, Conn., that left 20 small children and six adults dead could be prevented or stopped if some school staffers were armed. Monday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) said that teachers with licenses to carry concealed handguns should have "access to weapons in their school." [link to www.knau.org] Yes, THIS is HOW to DEAL WITH BULLIES, EVERYWHERE. Bullies want you to leave your guns at home, Kay? THINK!! NO MORE BULLIES, ANYWHERE! The psychopaths FROM THE TOP DOWN, are VERY ascared of lead. Keep it close. got kids? I ask this often, because it seems that you just got them, and don't know HOW to CARE for them yet, or something .. . let alone YOURSELVES.. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4365896 the assault rifle ban will go into effect, my friend, because it only takes one single, itty-bitty little missing part (that is readily available on the under-the-counter-market) to make any of these semi-autos fully auto-matic. You're talking about a $250,000 fine and at least 10 years in the Fed pen for anyone who did that (without a Class 3 tax stamp). Why? You having ideas? every gun-jerk, every gun-creep, every gun-tard all over the country has got those "missing parts" for their semi-autos. you can be certain of that. Where are you getting this info? It takes an new lower receiver, or some actual machine work on the existing receiver and trigger assembly. Certainly not jsut a missing part. Once again....RUMOR stated as fact. all semi-autos will be banned. live with it. (and buy yerself a sling-shot) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27972246 United States 12/20/2012 01:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Jesus Christ, how long before a group of smart ass kids gets an armed teacher to snap and go postal? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3168735 NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!! My wife is a H. S. Principal of a very large School. This is absolutely the wrong approach. She is LOCKING DOWN her H. S. and the Super is locking down all their other schools, about 12 of them, throughout the district. They're bringing in a company to massively increase physical security and demanding/contracting with, the County for 11 additional DARE/SRO officers from the county. Please don't put a gun in Wife's hands as the Principal and expect her to use it properly. She would be devastated if she hurt any of her 2,300+ kids that she loves with all her heart...and would lay down her life to save even one of them from this kind of thing first. Security had just been increased a the school where the shooting happened at. That didn't save the children. The only weapon the principal had to save her children was her body. He used a couple of bullets on her and went on to kill an entire classroom of children. Perhaps you and your wife need to get over your irrational fear of being able to protect oneself and get her to a gun range. Or at least get her some pepper spray and teacher her how to use it. Liberalism really is a mental disorder. It seems so commonly said, 'I would lay down my life... ".. but these same people refuse to 'lay down their heart..."... Easier to die than it is is to live with a broken heart because you had no choice but to kill someone to defend others. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1144869 If you live in one of these states, please do the same. I would recommend you go through the proposed legislation with a fine toothed comb and fully understand the law purposed, on each little jot and tittle, every word, every phrase, every clause, every sentence... and work to understand the desired consequences and consider the possible unintended consequences before you do such equally knee-jerk thing as approve of the passage of a law just because is 'seems' its going to do the desired job and 'others' are in favor of it -- usually these will have taken even less care to read and understand it then even perhaps you. Law, that is to say, Legislation is not for the weak minded, its is very difficult to draw up legislation as a purposeful. Consider also that you yourself are only one vote among thousands or tens of thousand or even millions of others your your same State Legislative District. |

Learning is best achieved by being in a safe, relaxed environment. Our children will continue to be dumbed down - mainly out of FEAR of being shot - by somebody - in public education institutions. Or on the streets. Or in the home. Wherever. Who the hell can learn ANYTHING in such an environment? I never thought it would get THIS bad. But then, TPTB are nasty, evil scum and are having their way with us. Shocking, but not unexpected. Time to teach the children our collective new 'reality' will require courses in firearms and situational awareness - if any of us expect to survive. It's now a Mad Max world. Never thought I'd see the day but here it is. Lock 'n load. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 20589235 United States 12/20/2012 02:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Will the guns be locked up but available to the teacher? Will they be openly carried? Will the teacher REALLY be trained to be accurate when firing under pressure (MOST police, who have continual recurrent training, TOTALLY MISS when engaged in a gun battle, even when only 15 feet away - seems being shot BACK at detroys one's concentration and aim) What will schools do if an ARMED TEACHER goes off the deep end and shoots someone who is unarmed, but who they claim they "thought" was armed? What will schools do if an ARMED TEACHER shoots students, particularly unruly students who are in a major league fight? (in my older son's middle school the fights sometimes got so bad not even ALL the male teachers on staff working in unison could break them up and they had to await the police to show up and start pepper spraying and tasering people in order to end the fight) LOTS of potential problems and potentially MORE shooting in schools than caused by outsiders coming in if weapons are available and NOT under the control of the Principal or Office. Our State Attorney General yesterday said it was OK under out laws IF the local school board set out a policy AND the guns were KEPT LOCKED UP but quickly available to TRAINED teachers or staff, people who have been through the full Peace Officer Training/Certification Program. (which is a LOT more involved than just a CCW Permit) |
