What we see most the time is false color pics wich are in a wavelength we wont be able to notice if we had no super sensitive telesocpes out in space. And hardly any layman can know what they show. You see everytime something else when you change the wavelength of what you observe, and i hardly can imagin what i see in those pics. |

You can also see the dark area isn't growing; it appears dark, then lighter, then darker again in accordance to solar activity. The purpose of the HI1 imager is to specifically look for diffuse plasma ejections (hot electrified gases) between the Sun and Earth; it's not very good for planetary or star observations. The dark area shows a lack of hot plasma during that time span. Capiche?
