For Those of You Who Want Doom Tomorrow -- WHY?
Just curious -- Are you tired of living? Just want some excitement? What?

I'll start. I'm approaching 60, and I already have everything I want and need, but I'm retired and have no kids or "real" hobbies, so I have nothing to look forward to except old age.

(BTW, I tried volunteer work, but that proved to be completely unfulfilling, crafts have never interested me, and I have never been passionate about any of my interests.)

It's not Doom we want, IT'S CHANGE!! The world is in a place to where we all feel STUCK, it's hard to explain, but it's true. We want something to happen to give us some hope or excitement.

We need change, but not OBAMA CHANGE.

i don't want doom but do want change (if doom is necessary so be it)

bc our civilization is unsustainable and the top 1% have this whole game rigged which doesn't make it very much fun to play

time to level out the playing field

When a person goes through a distressing incident like a death in the family, divorce etc.., it can wake that person up and change their life - often times for the better.

I'm hoping for a mass awakening that may require a massive 'shock'.

Re: For Those of You Who Want Doom Tomorrow -- WHY?
I've been through the ringer the past 8 years and I am fed up. Every year I think it must get better, something's got to give, and it just gets worse. That being said, I have two children that are my reason for living. And they make my life that much more tolerable, because they bring sunshine into the black hole I've been sucked into through no fault of my own. My whole life has been a disaster full of tragedies and now I've got nothing except my kids, which is why I've been a mess since Friday. If I lost my kids, I don't think I could go on.

Bottom line, I want to live, I want a different world, I have just enough hope left to want that. I understand some people lost all hope and coming to that place scares me because I have been very close. I don't see things getting better though so you really have to try to disconnect and live as sheltered life as you can before it begins to really affect you. Little things like going to the river with my kids, grabbing a glass of wine and playing a video game with them, feeling the sunshine on my bare skin, smelling fresh pine trees, cheesy little stuff, that is what keeps us all going, imho.
