Keep them hairs trimmed... Wash with mild soap.. let them boys go free to ventilate. If you find you sweat down there more often, pick up some unscented baby wipes, then just wipe the boys down to keep the bacteria level low, which causes the stink.

Actually, much of the smell is due to pheromones, which a guy generates in areas under the arm and around the crotch. It's an odor that's similar to burnt wood, or similar to what the gf mentioned, something like chili powder.
