Told to leave mall by mall cop

So my mom and I were just finishing up our delicious meal from the Sakio restaurant at our local mall. It was Sunday and the mall closes at 6:00 and it was approx. 6:02. I had about 3 bites left when a mall cop of a ethnic minority...cough...came up to our table and told us the mall was closed. We looked around and people were still ordering food and we said we would finish up quick. He came back about 30 seconds later and said "that doesn't mean you can finish". So my mom and I shoveled the rest of our food and quickly got out of the mall while he stared at us.
I think this is a forshadowing of what might be coming when a mall cop thinks he can treat paying customers the way he did (and I think he mostly did it because we are white). I swear he was looking for a reason to cause a scene. For the record my mom is a attorney and I have a biology degree and MBA and we don't look sleazy or weird. We called his boss but have no clue if anything was done. Was a very bad experience.
