Look at the facts so far, he knows time is limited so he must be getting old and since he is looking for an heir he must be alone and that could be by choice, which it probably is, the only question is whose choice, his (unlikely) or the people that he has met during his life want fuck all to do with him. lol, I'm going to have to keep that for my own self. Anybody ever made a wish to become one with a polar bear. Probably best if it looks like an accident as ther are a lot of permits to take the legal route, if that is even possible.

If you are truly trying to set up something to benefit all of mankind you don't need to give it to someone who may or may not change their mind or share a different vision. Use it to build something amazing that everyone can benefit from. Invest it in a project to grow food for the world, or bring real medicine to those who actually need it, or a clean energy to power the world, or just clean the Earth that we are going to give to future generations. If you want to change the world you're thinking too small. Don't think about what you can do for the next generation, think about what you can do for people hundreds of generations from now.

Well I'm not that old about middle age, but who knows how long I will be here, times running out.

You can't take your wealth with you, so best to give it to someone that will carry on the purpose that you have in common.

It would be silly just to choose a random person. Because there is likely someone in particular out there that is going to make best use of it.

And I would need to know them over a period of time to trust them obviously.

Well that is already part of it. But you need some wealth behind you to do all that. If you spend every cent without some inheritance, you are not going to be able to give the ones that come after you a fair chance cause they will have nothing to work with!
