Because C2C was blasting doomsday shows weaving Hale-Bopp into the carrot at the end of the stick. Dr Brown according to my research and i DID the research, RV'd what appeared to be craft in his opinion behind the comet. Who knows, maybe there were spaceships behind that giant rock, i don't know. With that said, i can NOT find any connections that Doc Brown had to the Cult, Heavens Gate. 11PM Tonight! Shwiing!! Are you aware that "Dr" Brown claimed to have photos of the "space ship" including negatives proving their veracity but has never produced any such evidence? Just how much research have you done regarding Brown and the Heavens Gate event? He was hardly a "scapegoat" but that is what he and his believers promote. I always thought that was pretty pathetic they way they tagged team on Dr. Brown over it. Funny how it was the only time in history Art suddenly cared about the accuracy and verifiability of "information" being broadcast on his show, and it was only after the fact. He should have stuck to his guns and just said it wasn't anybody's fault that a bunch of morons cut off their dicks and killed themselves.
