Why Switzerland Has The Lowest Crime Rate In The World

The government pays for everybody's ammo for a target practice festival nation wide every year. That is amazing and smart they train you equip you and at least once a year you practice so you don't get too rusty. That is the perfect model of a properly trained and organized militia. Then they go and stay neutral so they don't get sucked into pointless conflicts, our leaders could learn a lot from theirs.

unfortunately, there has also been an anti-gun push here for the past few years... we have been able to hang on though, because we have a direct vote on these issues. they have now allowed military to store their guns at special depots now, if that is wanted, whereas before, the military rifles needed to be kept at home. i don't know the numbers, but i assume most still keep them at home.

Switzerland is not USA. There is a big difference in the reason they own guns. And there are strict laws for their possession (both in purchuse, storage and carry allowance).

Well I only lived there for a while so i guess the swiss guys can tell you more. But as far as I know swiss men get trained in the army there as it is obligatory, so they are given their arms and can keep them after their training is over. They are not allowed to carry them in public and i think only a few "professional" are allowed to have them at home now. There are a lot of hunter's weapons that are allowed though. But not automatic weapons. And the licence to own a gun is strict -eg they check your health condition and reasons- (and there are restictions for non swiss nationals).

It gives us some hope that freedoms still exist and not every country is caving in to the ones who want rule over the world.

Maybe, your country's actions about gun freedoms will enlighten the ones left with sense here.

Our leaders use fear and irrational judgement to get what they want. By instilling fear on the public, the public follows them like lost puppies no matter how bad the direction they're going is.

It's like the salesman that wants you to buy what he's selling based on emotion and not logic. He paints emotional pictures to get you there.

You can't just move there, that's another part of the reason crime is so low. They actually try to maintain stability and prosperity for their citizens.
