A gun control question from a Brit to the USA and the rest of the world
Why, when we see people from all around the world owning firearms, carrying guns and firing them into the air, do we continually pick on the USA when a tragedy occurs? I'm not brown nosing the USA, but....

U.S. Constitution - Amendment 2

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The whole point of the USA was begin a new society, to arm the citizens to free them from tyranny which was the norm for everyone in Europe!

It is written into the whole basis of the country!

Take it away, and the USA has no point.

So wtf in trying to change it?

Personally, I am glad I live in the UK and we don't have easy access to guns.

But the USA has its laws and rules, and you have to respect the fact, but more than that, the USA was an experiment ,a new society, a product of its time, and therefore you are talking about its very foundations.

It's like Starbucks suddenly not serving coffee but moving into the car dealership business.

It's like my mum attempting to alter my OS to Linux.

You don't fuck around with the basics.

And Piss Morgan can shut his mouth! Wtf does he know about gun ownership!

The USA citizens are allowed to carry guns. If you don't like it, gtf out of the USA.

I kinda get what you are saying re not easy access to guns in the UK, but do you think Labour would have opened our borders and dropped security so much to let in the likes of Qutada, et al if we had still had guns in the UK.

I think Dunblane was the first Psy-op for new Labour as far as i'm concerned. It managed to remove guns from anyone except criminals, funny that. wonder why they didn't see that, perhaps they did, also planned so that they could introduce all those draconian new laws

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. >From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

This play for disarmament right after the DHS purchase of over a billion rounds of hollowpoint ammunition and armored vehicles is VERY disturbing...

If this is so, then what does that make survivor and champion tennis player, Andy Murray?

I don't know if any of these massacres are psy ops...I can well believe life is so stressful nowadays and people flip.

Perhaps that's what it has cost for him to be where he is today.

I said after obarmy got back in he would make a play for the US's guns, i just didn't think it would be this quick and blatant.

As a parent, there is not a thing in the world that would keep me from seeing my boy, regardless of what i was told, there is NO WAY IN HELL i would have accepted a photo as proof of my sons demise, is that because i dont trust the police and government, maybe. I've spoken to several friends, not all conspiracy theorists, and pretty much every single one has said, no way to photo evidence, show me the body.

Sorry, but there are too many inconsistencies with this, whats the betting the older brother ends up suicided as he wont be able to deal with the pressure

Our country is being transformed into a marxist state and there's no room for guns in such a state. Sooner or later it's going to hit the fan. I suspect this spring things will get out of control.

There are over 2 million legally owned guns in the uk. We outgun our police and military combined. Scotland has one gun for every 24 people. My other half's dad has 11 different guns.

Out of this ugliness may come,
Some day, so beautiful a flower,
That men will wonder at that hour,
Remembering smoke and flowerless slum,
And ask-glimpsing the agony
Of the slaves who wrestle to be free-
'But why were all the poets dumb?'
-William Montgomerie

So many gods, so many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind,
While just the art of being kind
Is all the sad world needs.

I wonder this too....

Whilst America is not exactly the shining bastion of responsible firearms ownership.. it is by far not even the country with the most firearms homicides... shit... its not even in the top ten.

America has a problem with guns, but the problem isnt the guns themselves.

The problem is cultural i think, Switzerland and other countries with a lot of guns don't have the problems the US has.

Maybe the US should focus less on introducing bans and criminal checks and focus more on mental health checks.

This is the lie they tell us. There are millions of firearms here.

Guns, legally owned are all over rural britain, but they dont get a bad rap because 99.999% of people use them responsibly.

The problems are mostly within inner city areas due to illegal handguns.

True this. Guns are not banned in the UK. You just need to jump through hoops to get one.

OP, you must remember that the right to bear arms and to lawful rebellion are long-standing British traditions, enshrined in our Magna Carta and Bill of Rights. Just because Parliament has chosen to ignore these documents does not mean they are obsolete!

I hope all my cousins from the USA will read this article before getting caught up in the recent anti-gun hysteria:

Re: A gun control question from a Brit to the USA and the rest of the world
I think the UK law is set up to befuddle and delay on any aspect they don't want us to access. It may well be a law akin to the 'sheep across Westminster Bridge' law that some evoke.

My issue is, to get a firearm in the USA is easy, and should be, if it's enshrined in the constitution. This was the citizens emancipating themselves.

In the UK however, we are not emancipated. We are still under the protection/yoke of the ruling classes. And undoubtedly they do not want to see us rise up, or have the ability to do it with ease. The riots last year would have only resulted in innocent deaths had people owned guns - it was no struggle from the plebians, only looting and burning, from where I was standing in south west London.

I have no doubt that many people have firearms in the UK, mostly in the countryside for the cultural and traditional reasons, and many more have illegally obtained them in the cities. If the world goes to shit you can be sure that those illegal guns will appear on our streets and they won't be handled by the most trustworthy people.

I am 40 years old and have lived in the UK all my life. In Glasgow, London, Northampton, Birmingham, Brighton, and in the country.

I have never met anyone who owned a firearm.
