Tax Refunds May Be Delayed By Cliff Wrangling

If you depend on an early tax refund to help pay for large holiday credit card bills you could be out of luck.

Medicare is warning doctors – and millions of elderly patients – payments will be slashed in January unless Congress acts soon. A 27 percent cut to doctors is scheduled to be triggered if Congress doesn’t vote to waive spending cuts.

It costs 2 cents to make every penny! A nickel costs more than 10 cents to produce.

I sorta think Migg's instructions on how to make an elf are as relevant as anything else :) Thing is, REASONABLE leaders would do ANYTHING to ensure their country survived potential economic downfall. They would negotiate, and some would give points while others took, but they would come to a reasonable solution. Of course, it would have helped if they had been doing that all along. And, of course, that’s if they really cared to prevent an economic downfall.

Notice how all governments are borrowing and spending money like they never have to pay it back? They have no intention of paying it back. This whole economy scam is so big it's mind-boggling. There's NO far left in American politics. Maybe a relative left, but the right has people talking about destroying the governement; the left has no one advocating socialism, etc.

CNBC is as good a place as any. There is a few minutes delay, but unless you are actively trading, they have the easiest to use graphs & charts for non financial geek peeps to use.

CNBC folks are trying hard to minimize the impact of the fiscal cliff -- fascinating since they were so shrill about the consequences until now.

I remember vividly how we all were cheated in the same way on the year 2000 arrival. The world became only worse. I will not be cheated anymore. I expect the doom any time, without preconditions or precursors. No special date is needed. The 2012 was the biggest lie in my life so far, after that of 2000.

kind of an awkward statement you made there. not sure if it's an umbrella statement on the "left" or a general sweeping statement of "American politics", but as an American I'll try to provide some insight:

Basically the Right thinks the country is in the shitter(and it is!) and so they don't want to destroy government, they want it to return to it's original form where we actually abide by our own laws.

The left not wanting socialism is like saying a baby doesn't want an Oreo. The left doesn't have to ask or chime out for what they want, or articulate their ideas. They cry like children, en mass, and under-educated(in general), poor(in general), left just kind of gets their way. At least for the past 5 years now.

As for me? I think everything is wrong. I think we should be living completely different than this. I don't really have a side except for my own.

Honestly, I don't think there was a choice in this matter. Isn't it obvious that we are broke? Pretty amazing how this central planning credit card ($$ printer?) works isn't it?

Eventually, other nations of the world will have to use something other than dollars to settle trade even with massive devaluations to their own currencies to keep pace.

That is when the credit card gets denied, that's when you got to watch out.
