so, i wrote this little utility that scraped youtube and stored the total number of views to a file... every hour is runs si I can see the numbers increase... as I was curiuos about exactly when it hit 1,000,000,000. Just now my utility reports 999,824,232... but as it only runs ever hour I went to youtube to see the exact count... and THERE it satys, 998,976,706... WTF!? Clearly they are manually tweaking the numbers... but why?
