Not a fan of the Abrahamic 'god'..
I mean he did all this petty, jealous and vengeful stuff in the old testament.. then to top it off sent his/her/its son to be killed by us.

That is not the type of god i want to pray to. Perhaps the snake in the garden was the good guy, trying to warn us about this sick fuck.

Im conflicted because the story of Jesus' life and his death is gut wrenching, i love that guy.

That sounds like an abusive relationship. In a state of delusion where you think he loves you regardless of the abuse.
Scared to leave because of what he'll do to you.

So maybe Adam Lanza is a Saint. He just sent dozens of kids to heaven and spared them of this world.

This is why the "rapture" needs to happen sooner rather than later. Would clear out all the Bible-thumping refuse that spouts crap and sponges off of everybody.

That is a stupid argument. Why would God even have a baby/child be born if he planned to "ascend them up to heaven?" Give it up. Think of all the devastated people left behind, mourning the loss of their child. Seems that an intelligent "god" could think up a better plan. Or maybe there is no god at all and you are only trying to think up excuses to explain him because you can't live without your fantasies?

Oh dear, another blasphemer, I will pray for you, in the meantime I suggest you beg forgiveness. God is patient, and he loves us, but his patient has it's limits, I'd hate to see spend eternity in hell because you don't understand how much he loves us.

An eternity of torture is preferable to perpetual state of nonexistence, I suppose.

And why would a deity create something that has the potential to not comprehend the most important relationship it should have?

After that, Enuma Elish....and you will see even more.

They take the actions of two and make them one. Mixing up two very different personalities, thus you end up with very difficult actions to justify or understand. Because one of those entities had contempt while the other compassion.

I will let you find your own way of understanding from here.

Re: Not a fan of the Abrahamic 'god'..
man the way the believers argue really poisons me from the whole thing

"here is why what we see in the bible isn't right. kids massacred, people tortured forever, etc."

then their response is:

"well its true so believe it or go to hell stfu"

the fact that they believe that the perfect moral being is someone who sends millions of people to an eternity of torture makes these people very dangerous individuals IMO. that psychology is absolutely astounding and unbelievably offensive to everything we know as right.

It is not for you to question the ways of God. Just understand that he loves us. Now, repent, or it's off to the fiery lake for you, where you can spend an eternity contemplating how much you misunderstood God's love for you.

It is obvious to normal people, but this is exactly what they believe. Christians excuse everything God does...be it torture, murder of babies, slavery, rape, etc. They think that God can do anything he likes because...here it comes...he's GOD!!! So if God wants to torture people forever if they don't worship him, that is okay for most Christers. When I read comments like yours, it is hard to say if it is a joke or not.
