Where is the OP?

If you're for real...

I'm in the medical field. What you describe sounds like pyloric stenosis.

Failure to thrive, projectile vomiting.

Please pass this on to your son - baby needs an ultrasound to diagnose pyloric stenosis.

I knew a woman with a failure to thrive baby.

The baby needed heart surgery.
After that the baby gained weight and was healthy.
Thats all I know.

He may be allergic to the formula as well as something the mom is eating. A lactation nurse would have a list of foods that often give babies trouble. Goat milk is a much better substitute for momma milk formula is full of gross ingredients.

Re: Need help. My son's step daughter's child is failing to thrive and has from the beginning.
When it comes to allergies and intolerances in infants, it is difficult to rule out the cause with breast milk, as previous posters have noted: whatever the mother eats, the baby is also eating. My child had severe digestive problems resulting in an enlarged liver and hospital stay at 7 months old. The only thing that resolved it was the hypo-allergenic formula Pregestimil; even the more widely prescribed Nutramigen was more than he could handle.

Keep up the hope - my 'baby' is now healthy and 6 ft. tall :)

Pregestimil is a hypoallergenic infant formula that is iron-fortified and lactose-free. Pregestimil can be given to infants with formula allergies as well as other ailments such as short-bowel syndrome. It includes all the benefits of DHA and ARA, which are nutrients found in breast milk.

Enfamil Nutramigen is made for babies with cow's milk protein allergy and is also for babies with colic. Nutramigen is lactose-fee and has same formula benefits for brain and eye development.

Get the monther on a strict organic diet with NO WHEAT OR DAIRY immediately. Lots of fresh and cooked vegetables both. Organic meat only. If she whines about it, kick her in the teeth.

Throw out the "formula" it kills. Breastfeed only from the breast - no collecting.

Get the baby to a pediatric chiropractor and/or a quantum energy healer who can get the skull and spine aligned.

Refuse ALL pills and/or meds from the alopathic death doctor.

He is just now able to raise his head. He is a happy, curious little guy who does not complain. He is on both formula and breast fed and throws up each. They have put him on meds for acid reflux as his MRI suggest he may be suffering from that.

Any suggestions of help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for any assistance. He is a little trooper.

Prayers are welcome as well and his name is Peyton.

Cow milk protein...

He needs another type of milk. My son was the same, kept throwing up 'till we switched him. Now he's fine.

Thickening the formula with some rice cereal should help settle his stomach, if his pediatrician agrees.

And Peyton needs to sleep on his back, even with the reflux - which is usually not too serious and something that passes with time.

Lots of babies don't develop as soon as the books indicate what is 'normal' and turn out to be just fine.

Many blessings to the little guy.

It's the combination of breast milk and formula (soy, in addition all of it is GMO) that are incompatible.

Sounds as though giving him acid reflux meds is missing the problem.

If your daughter needs to augment breast milk, then see how the little guy does on goat's milk (fat molecules are more consistent to mother's milk).

Action first, THEN pray.

I found an article that may help you

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

This is a successful measure to treat chronic vomiting due to reflux. One of my sons had to have this procedure done. He couldn't hold anything down. After the procedure is done, it practically prevents anything from coming back up from the stomach. You have to push to have the procedure done. Please trust me on this, it will make a difference.

I had a niece who died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Since most babies are now sleeping on their backs, there has been a dramatic decrease in SIDS. Mayo Clinic says even with reflux do not put them on their stomach.

Of course everyone should do their own research.

He probably needs more HCL in his stomach.

My daughter has a 4-month-old with colic, though otherwise healthy. When she went back to work her milk started to dry up so she drank this herbal tea. It not only increased her milk but helped baby with colic because of the ingredients that help to settle the tummy like fennel, caraway and anise. It's worth a try because as others said, what mama eats, baby also eats.

Re: Need help. My son's step daughter's child is failing to thrive and has from the beginning.
Failure to thrive can refer to physical, mental, emotional, or all of the above. I assume you are referring to physical only.

My daughter was allergic to milk, then soy, then protein based formulas. She projectile vomitted, had blood in her stool and dropped from 8 pounds to 4 before we tried our last restort- which was an amino based formula which was by perscription.

She regained the weight and is now a 5'10" beautiful 14 year old girl.

Don't get too worried, baby Peyton will be ok. We will pray for him. Hugs
