I can see Russia taking up permanent residence in Syria and making it a satellite state ,especially with the patriots on Turkeys border. Everybody saying something has to be done to stop the killing, here's your answer. Russia are at least accountable, sure it might be rough for the first while (heehee, jihadists thought Abu Ghraib was bad ) but if true a Russian presence will stop the random killing and may even prevent the genocide of all who aren't sunni muslim.

I'm pretty sure they're Russian made MIGs sold to the Syrians. I can't find any evidence supporting them being Russian at this point.

This isn't about the jets there is a more pressing matter at hand, that of the deaths of innocent people with no intervention, all I can see is terrorists are being armed at an alarming rate and they are unleashing hell.
