Is Our Planet Slowing Down Are These All Related??

Please feel free to add other Threads or your own findings to these. If we can get the possible bigger picture to the puzzle we can maybe arrive at a proper conclusioin or at least have a clue to what it all means.

OK, nay-sayer here. Wanted to explain some things but if you prefer ignoring stuff ...

But one simple thing: If the earth was slowing down, why would the water levels for example rise?

oh very simple the "bulge" in the middle of our Planet....water would have to go somewhere....And I do not take you as a nay-sayer a good discussion with honest questions is what I would like this thread to accomplish. Pro and Con just not the poo throwing type of hate!

slowing down as in the days are longer, or slowing down as in a year would be longer?

ie, are you suggesting the earth is spinning slower, or is orbiting slower?

You're correct, of course. Less centrifugal force equals lower sea levels around the equator and higher level at and above the arctic circles. But why would, as stated in one of the threads you linked above, the sea level rise in SC or NY. That'd be too far south for rising tides, instead they'd lower. Or do you think while the water moves north, it causes temporally higher tide at the mid latitudes?

And BTW: Our planet's spin is constantly slowing down since probably forever. There already was a topic today in which was mentioned that the moon moves a couple of centimeters every year, and with it the earth spins slower. Thousands if not millions of years ago a day only lasted a few hours. So yes, our days are constantly getting longer and longer. But this happens at a rate no one would ever notice.

I said already before, that my guess is, if something would happen on the 21st it wouldn´t have to be we would all be able to notice instantly... it could be a slow development of things, that was always my feeling with this.
Anyway, we´ll see..

That's possible...things are changing. I have also wondered at times if the Earth's rotation could be speeding up.
I've heard a lot of people ask if time seemed to be speeding up and quote that verse about the days being shortened.

I like to keep an open mind on the possibilities of what is causing all the changes. I agree that something/s is going on not only here on Earth but also above. (As above so below?)

That's what I told a family member the other day. The fact that whatever, if anything at all happened, that I didn't believe it would be a sudden event...but gradual events. Possibly even a domino effect.

I once assumed that, after eating out of the glove box though, the lights were strangled between that.

the way we can suss this out is to have a coordinated effort, from people who can see the horizon, not blocked by hills or anything, watching what time the sun rises/sets, and posting their results on here

Yes an open mind as well as one that is willing to look at things and receive input.

Sorry I do not believe the ones online are any longer "accurate" I think they have been manipulated. I have an almanac...that is why in the one thread above I stated the difference it was approx 26 min late in rising this AM.

What incredible force could keep this massive ball we call earth from spinning? And even within a few days? Ridiculous!

The dualism is amazing endless.

The galactic equator we are crossing. On a smaller scale water spins down a drain in a different direction in the other hemisphere. The earth is just a small rock compared to the galactic magnetic forces.

But it's not the earth alone crossing this 'galactic equator'. It's at least our whole solar system. So, let's assume something of larger scale will change, why should it only affect earth's rotation? Why not also the all motion within the system?
Gravitational forces would be so extreme, the inner most planets would get sucked into the sun.
Not to mention that nothing could ever survive a sudden stop of the earth's rotation, or the suddenly increased gravitation that would cause. Not even the earth itself would withstand this. It'd simply implode and split into tiny pieces.
I'll save further trouble to explain more. It's just extremely unrealistic.

Severe winter weather closed more than 30 miles of Interstate 5 in southern Oregon Thursday.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said I-5 was closed between Canyonville and Hugo, Exits 66-99. That section was open again by Thursday evening, even as snow continued to fall in the area.

Perhaps but not impossible and in this day and age it seems that the unrealistic is unfolding more often!

Has anyone felt like it was time to get up earlier (or night was lasting too long) the last few days? As though the clock should say it is later than it is? Seems this way to me by about an hour or so. Also not really hungry....I know this is kind of off topic but did not want to begin another thread and the long night could be related to the topic.

I took the time to view this doc and it's what prompted me to view this thread. I had also read about the inconsistent time of the sun's setting and rising here also. I think taking all things into consideration I must surmise that whatever "this" all means it most certainly is not over.

I have found not only world events, but closely held human events both at work, with family in virtually every facet of my life experience of late are at best in a state of flux--something is brewing, simmering, getting ready to pop. It's the best way I can describe it. Just sitting back preparing my own soul and trying to be a good support mechanism for others when I'm called upon....
