It's simple. They could push us more if they wanted to but they know the power and will of the human soul they know that if they push to hard we will break and hang them by their necks. If you took a look around you would come to an irrefutable conclusion that most people don't even know what is going on. and that’s only because they haven't pushed anything on the public that was to drastic to fast. If you remove the gun factor from the equation then "TPTB" really have nothing to worry about at all total chaos and an even less percent chance of an up rising.

The government has too much military technology at its disposal. Current gun control laws against fully automatic weaponry don't help, but even with those, they still have tanks, missiles, stealth bombers, etc. No one with a semi-automatic AR-15 can really expect to defend their rights if the government decides to take them.
