You don't know the the people I grew up with in the midwest. They work their asses off for just enough to support their families, they believe in a higher power and a better way. They respect their elders, actually take care of the elderly and will give the shirt off their back to help a friend.... and they will die to protect what they believe is right and just. I agree, I'd say 20% of the people in the midwest are taught from an early age how to handle a gun properly. I know big families with 20 to 30 people capable of dropping a deer at 250 yards, having 60 to 90 rifles, shotguns,hand guns and the mindsets of a caged bear. They will never start anything, but don't push them into a bad situation. Theres probably 2 to 3 million in Mo., Arkansas and Oklahoma alone
