milk will be $6-$8. a gallon if we go over the fiscal cliff. This is just the beginning. I have 8 kids to feed. God help us

How much would you be willing to pay for a gallon of milk? Would you pay $6.00 ?

Well in January that is what it what it will cost you, if the budget problem is not settled. Seems there is a farm bill buried in the budget, that compensates farmers for the price difference, between the price they sell milk for, and the price they pay for grain and hay to feed the cows.

People may be in for a serious shock at the grocery store come January unless Congress works on the Farm Bill. The Farm Bill currently regulates the price of milk and is one of the big items caught up in the federal budget debate right now.

If the Farm Bill is not renewed by Congress by the end of the year, the price of milk could SURPASS $6 a gallon. The 2008 Farm Bill has expired and currently, a version passed by the Senate has stalled in the House of Representatives.
