Would you buy a Civic Si with 65k miles?
Would you buy a Honda Civic Si sedan, with 65000 miles??

The car is all stock, with no mods. Maintenance all made in Honda, the car is great, but I'm a little bit worried about the durability, in general, because of the mileage.

I'm from Brazil. Our Si is the same car sold in your country, although we don't have the Si coupe, only the sedan.

What you think??

I sold an 88 Honda Accord that had 265,000 miles on it. I still see it buzzing around town from time to time. It probably has 365,000 on it by now.

Oh, let's not talk about price, because the reality here in Brazil is much, much different from your country.

"Honda boy", because I'm a fan of Honda cars and the history behind this brand.

I'm just asking because I've never saw an Si here, with more than 40k miles and I'm specially concerned about the engine, which is very special(it reaches 8000rpm, this is loco) and I wouldn't have money to recondition it by now. But, if you guys say that this is not much for a Honda, than I trust you.

8k rpm is not that uncommon. There are plenty of much higher horsepower engines that rev to 8k these days that also last for 200k miles

Re: Would you buy a Civic Si with 65k miles?
My intention is to reach 120k miles without open the engine, only with oil replace and filter replace. If I have no issues with the K20, is this possible?

If it's possible, I could easily keep this car with me, because my money is very short.

oh, is good to read this, my friend, because I love this car. It's my cousin's car, and he will sell it for me. It's a very pleasurable car, to drive. The gear stick is very close to the steering, which is very quick in response, the engine is fabulous, sounds great, and the suspension very tight in curves. Honda made a wonderful car.

It's a 2007, silver. All original, with Toyo tires, 17" original rims, very beautiful.

Sounds great, I love Honda cars. They have a kind of "racing aura". The second stage of VTEC is orgasmic, feels like a turbocharger.

Yeah, that's my idea, because this car have a good balance between power and fuel economy. I don't want to mess with it.

Thanks a lot, buddy. I agree, this is one of the best cars I drove in my life. All in this car was made to give pleasure in driving. The steering wheel is small, the gear shift is short, perfect, the pedals gives you a great position for heel and toe, the engine is priceless, nervous, it wont stop growing when you put a kickdown on it. I could stay with this car for 10 years and not get bored with it.

Re: Would you buy a Civic Si with 65k miles?
I would definitely consider buying it. I would love to find the same car I have now. I can't remember the series I have but it's a 1999 Civic and I am getting ready to turn 209,000. Runs great, its a manual and I get great mpg. I live in an area where they salt the roads in the winter, and it has very little rust. There is someone that parks in the same parking lot at my job that has one too. Same year, same color, auto transmission that is in mint condition. I don't think they have nearly the amount of miles that I do though.

VTEC like a turbo? You've never driven a turbocharged car then =D

But, I've owned the 2006 SI and the 2008 Mugen SI and they were great cars. If they didn't give me such a shit deal when I brought back (My Mugen was a lease), I definitely would have bought it.

You really can't go wrong with Honda when it comes to reliability.

Re: Would you buy a Civic Si with 65k miles?
NO BUY A GMC WITH 65000 MILES, THEN REPLACE THE RUSTING BREAKLNES, THE RUSTING TRANNY LINES, REPLACE THE 5 OR 6 ELECTRICAL THINGS THAT ARE BROEN, REPLACE THE ROCKER PANELS, NEW STRAPS FOR GASTANK, IT WILL BE GOOD FOR ANOTHER 30K MILES. I WONDER WHY THEY STILL USE INFERIOR STEEL IN KEY AREAS, WHEN MY BRAKELINES WENT I ALMOST DIED, I REPLACED EVERYTHING MYSELF, THEY WANTED 1200 TO DO BRAKELINES,2K FOR ROCKERS, ETC
