When the LA riots happened, the store owners used semi-auto rifles because they needed them. When the BATFE raided the Branch Dividian church in Waco TX they didn't use any guns at all to defend themselves and the government assaulted them with a small army and a tank. Burned the whole building and 74 people to a crisp.

I like me revolver too, but if my family came under a real attack, I would be reaching for a good rifle in short order.

Wrong tool, the second amendment is about protecting our rights from any form of tyranny.

Because our law dictates that one feel in danger before they act in self-defense. Unless you are being attacked from a distance, then you can't just shoot someone because they are trespassing.

I'm THINKING that if someone no matter how close or how far is coming to harm me or my family, they probably need to be KILLED before they can get to me/us.

It works well. We have a legal system that punishes those that decide to break the law. It's the way our society works.
