Bought some Oysters today, any suggestions?

Should I rinse them off with water or is that like rinsing the starch off pasta?

Oysters in a sardine type can are great with saltine crackers.
Just use a toothpick to pick them up.
My dad and i used to share a tin of them when i was a kid, we each had a toothpick and would share a sleeve of crackers. Great stuff.

Oysters in a soup can, "whole oysters", we would dump in a small pot, then take the can and use it to cut the oysters up into smaller pieces. Then fill the same can 3 times with milk, dump in, add 1 table spoon butter and salt and pepper, heat through.( do not let milk scald!) Eat with crackers, great comfort food!

Hmm I think they would be good with crackers I'll try that, there not in a sardine can just a small clear plastic container with a metal tin top. They are whole there almost as big as my hand, I didn't eat the flat part with black though

I know thats why I was asking if I should even eat them raw. They taste pretty fresh though very oceany

...oysters are "benthic feeders"...all they consume is ditritus...so if you get 'em from the west coast..throw them out..cesium 134, cesium137 from Fukishima;...if from the gulf of mexico....throw them out...COREXIT....if from the east coast ...all the afformentioned.

I wonder if they were roasted, if that'd taste good.

Tinned ones, usually just on a cracker, maybe a slice of tomato or cucumber or whatchagotinthefridge.
