Sorry, that Dark City trailer doesn't tell you much but without giving away the entire storyline while still feeling like i am, the beings that live ''underground'' in the movie manufacture the experience over and over in attempts to understand human consciousness as they don't have it themselves.

Interestingly enough how I had an idea last night for a plot to a movie - Where all the mega corporations of the earth are profiteering off the ''earth experience'' in order to fund mechanical wars on Mars while re-colonizing a more advanced utopia where humans are no longer required for divide and conquer. Oh, and all the money to fund this sort of expedition is from the people back on earth who are paying to experience life their. Not physically, but mentally in a sort of total recall, matrix, plugged-in illusionary sort of reality completely unaware.
