As the other day I was watching a flock of birds on the Bay. The water had just began to recede and the birds were grouped around said freshly revealed sand.

They were gorging themselves on the sandfleas made available to them.

Fat little bellies they had.


As I watched them I marveled at how balanced Nature is to provide for her inhabitants.

They need not steal or cheat, as what they need is provided.

The sandfleas, being vast in number feed the birds. Insects being far more numerous than the birds they feed.

However, if one was to fall out of balance with the other an imbalance would occur causing either unrestrained breeding of insects or a die-off of said birds.

That is what I was getting at.

I think the problem, at least as I see it, is that we do not live in a balanced environment.

I agree that balance is ideal, indeed a trait of the eschaton, and something we'd all do well to aspire to.

The problem is, as I like to say, the iron chains. The power in our world is wielded by those who would destroy balance.

Restoring entrenched lack of balance in the environment requires that balance be ignored for the time being.

And though it pains me to say this, can you honestly say that your awakening has helped you in an objective sense? Cause for me, while it did balance my psyche, it sort of feels like moving a mountain at a job in exchange for an extra buck that day.

However, 'Balance' is what it is.

What man chooses to do with it, is choice.

Yes but I did not choose to be who I am.

If Christ or Buddha were alive and walking about in our society, chances are they would both be homeless. Certainly their intrinsic balance would go to waste.

Certainly their word would fall on deaf ears.

We have reached a point where just one "Average Joe" is more capable of harming society than an average Buddha or Christ is capable of fixing it.
