.486 bac at 18. Respiration stopped, $26000 bill to prove it. At this point I'm living off borrowed time, welcome to the club.

Almost dying makes life more meaningful.

I cry a lot now though.

It's fine, insurance paid the majority of it, I just had to handle the deductible (still a bit for a college kid lol).

How has it changed my reality? Well it's only been about a year and some change since then. I don't live for myself anymore. I've realized that the only reason I'm still here, is pure unadulterated will. Who's will it was for me to continue, I do not know. It doesn't matter. It put a lot of my personal thoughts into perspective. It's crazy having a doctor and multiple nurses at one of the largest party schools in America tell you they have never seen someone as a freshman, who had drank alcohol by then only a handful of times, with such a high bac, and leave the next day (stomach pumped, chipped tooth from the respirator). No coma, no lasting damage. I guess you could say it showed me, however young I am, that I have a purpose; something still to do, or to be at a certain place at a certain time for someone else. Modesty, gratitude, not taking life for granted, understanding the impact ones loss can truly create amongst loved ones; ive been able to learn these at an age younger than most. Sure it was self induced, but too many coincidences happened to have led me from the hundreds of apartments at that complex to the front entrance; if I passed out for 1 momemnt, if the people I were with said "just let em sleep it off, their drunk, it's fine", I wouldn't be typing this. In a nutshell, I guess I learned to just enjoy the life we are given, and really, wherever you are at, you are meant to be there. Whatever situation you are in, it is perfect for you. Enjoy and cherish everything around you, as it is all there personally tailored for your own good, and in the long run, will always help to progress you further than you have ever been.

Then again, literally two days before that whole ordeal, I asked "god" to tangibly prove to me he was real. I can personally attest to receiving an actual answer. Maybe my entire reason to be here is just to write this testimony, who knows. I'm just blessed to be able to share (a small part of an honestly unimaginable experience) my story with you, and am honored to share as much as I can and use the time I have as productively as possible.
