In my experience, the more people talk like this, the sadder their real life situation is. It is usually those who feel most helpless and kicked around by the world who go to these kind of ego exaggerations. Usually revolving around the spirit world because they have already had to face the fact that at no point in the physical world will they ever achieve even a modest sense of fulfillment.

The last time I took it upon myself to really call one of these people out, he turned out to be a housebound invalid who suffered brain damage in a car accident. His online persona of being an internet shaman was really his only escape from reality. I felt like a heel once I pushed it too far and saw the whole picture.

I'm sure it's the same case with this guy. If you ever Catfished him and showed up on his doorstep, what you found would probably make you pity him deeply.
