Unless they expect to take the case to trial with the "missing gunmen" as defendants.

I don't see any real reason not to release all pertinent information.

They should have DAILY press releases regarding the latest in the investigation.

This is nothing more than a "mop-up" operation.

Or perhaps a "cover-up" & "fabrication operation", this would take more time?
