Quoting: SFC_Swede No mention of Obama jetting off to another multi-million dollar vacation to Hawaii, or the constant shifting in his position. Dont get me wrong, I feel the President has played Boehner like a Stradivarius, with the medias help. As much as I disagree with the AC's above tone, and blind rhetoric, he does have a distinct point. BTW...what makes MSNBC or CNN, or any of the other "news" organizations any more or less biased than FOX? IMHO, at least FOX tries to present both sides, and the Lib/Progressive guests get a say and arent shouted down and called morons like the opposition are on lets say...MSNBC. Of course, the President has no say in the matter because it is CONGRESS which needs to do something. Wait...What? The WTF is all these weeks of secret and not so secret meetings with the Executive hmmmmm? Of course the House needs to pass a Bill, which they have on several occasions, but it still needs to get through the Senate, which the Senate majority leader has publically spoken that any House Bill is DOA in his chamber...but again, no harsh words toward him and his fellow Democrat hostage takers, who havent passed a budget bill in over 4 years....and then the President needs to sign it. Trust me, I dont needs a civics lesson, and know how things are supposed to work. I am just asking for a little fairness here. Obuma has asked for 2 trillion up front deficit cash and spending cut negiotiations later. Thats not a deal. He and his treason party have to be removed from office. Extortion is still a crime in the US ? |

The entire process came to a standstill late Thursday, when the Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner, was unable to muster enough votes in his own Republican caucus for a bill that would only have raised taxes on incomes of $1 million a year. More at link.......... To be honest, I do not think Obama has any interest in agreeing to any deal. Even if all of the Republicans agreed with every one of Obama's DEMANDS, Obama would still find a reason to refuse it. he has shown that he has no interest in doing anything that would actually help this country. The biggest sticky point for him, and one he DEMANDS is for him and him alone to have the right and power to increase the debt ceiling to anything he wants it to be. Yeah, like that is going to work. He wants to spend and spend your childrens, grand-childrens, and now great-grand-childrens future, with NO plans to buy it back. |

Extortion is still a crime in the US ? Extortion, arm twisting, and nepotism is all the entire political class knows. Of course he wants the spending increases now, with the promise of cuts later. This is not some new trick. The Democrats have pulled that one on Reagan when they promised cuts for a tax increase and the cuts never came. They did it again on George H.W. Bush when he broke his "no new taxes" pledge. And even Clinton ran on cutting taxes, but once in office came to the microphone and proclaimed "I have never worked as hard as I have in these past few weeks, but I just cant find any areas to reduce taxes". Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30625170 When the US goes over the fiscal cliff, thanks to the tea party faction, the George Bush tax cuts will expire, and tax rates will go up. Then the new Congress sworn in in January, will pass new tax cuts, with the help of Democrats in the House, the Democrat controlled Senate, and signed by President Obama. The tax cuts to be forever known as the "Obama tax cuts". If you can't see this coming, you've been watching too much Foxnews. And are following your tea party faction, beholden to the weathiest 1/5th of 1% of Americans who make over $1 million per year, who couldn't possibly withstand the indignity of a 3% increase in their tax rate. The Republicans are a bigger joke than ever right now. Bring on the Obama tax cuts!!! Rest assured my friend, the "joke" is all inclusive! I am perplexed by those that still hold the opinions that this is just another case of 'democrats v/s republicans' the only battle lines that I can see are 'us v/s them' "united we stand....divided we fall" .... Chrit User ID: 27088294 United States 12/22/2012 01:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is all by design. The goal is to tie our hands and keep the US from influencing world politics. The administration does not think we should have the influence we do and the best way to stop the US is to put us in debt bondage. Our engine of prosperity is consumerism, but we don’t produce what we consume anymore, other nations do. The only way to get out of this debt issue is to produce new sources of growth. But taxes only slow the velocity of money and consumer confidence is staggeringly low on top of it. Taxes do not raise government revenue but rather are used to control growth of the economy so it does not out pace itself. If you let an economy all of a sudden have a 25% growth in one year the next few years will stagnate and the growth will collapse in on itself. So you raise taxes when we are growing to fast, well we are not growing too fast; instead our debt is growing too fast. What we have is an attempt to put us all in long term debt bondage we cannot get out of quickly. We are spurring our current growth by mortgaging our economic future! The only way to get out of this to lower taxes and increase the velocity of money, more money in circulation today then has ever been in circulation before but money is changing hands slower than it ever has before. The government makes its money and the value of our currency goes up when we exchange money. If no one is using the dollar it is worthless. Another thing, our growth is directly related to the cost of energy, no cheap energy no growth. Make no mistake there will be no new “clean” energy jobs, they are just a fleecing unit. If clean energy was feasible you and I would invest in it in a heartbeat. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |
