Well, he's right, I know it's hard to hear. Over the past 20 years I've watched the Republican party morph from a legitimate party into a den of crazy herpa derp.

The problem is, they started to notice that a certain portion of the voters are...how shall I say...as crazy as a shithouse rat...the hardcore bible thumpers, the racists, the paranoids, etc. Rather than pretend these factions didn't exist, as they always had before, they decided to try to capitalize on this untapped market, and embraced them, and started focusing their party rhetoric on things that appeal to these fringe voters.

And the inevitable result is that the inmates have taken over the asylum.

The Republican party needs to die like the diseased animal it has become, so that the non-foaming-at-the-mouth conservatives can once again have a responsible, reasonable, legitimate party to represent them. Maybe this could have been the Tea Party, but it suffers from a lesser version of the same affliction.

Usurper came before the Tea Party. You non birthers pissed off the wrong people.

Pssst. YOU are one of the fringe voters I'm referring to lol.

So yeah, the modern conservative movement (both Republicans and Tea Party) are doomed to die, because they've dedicated themselves to 2 competing ideologies. One one hand, in order to secure the dumb vote, they have to say dumb things. But acting dumb in turn tends to turn off the more intelligent, moderate Republicans. And now they're stuck between a rock and a hard place, because if they stop catering to the dummies and the crazies, they'll lose THEIR votes. They painted themselves into a corner in the past decade and there is no way out, it's a no-win situation.
