Mistranslation! End of World is tomorrow, not yesterday
hiding

"Scholars have not yet solved the ancient riddle, as the Maya calendar has not been fully decoded and correlated to the Western, or Gregorian, calendar.

Therefore the Mayan calendar's cycle, which some argue marks the end of days, might correspond to Sunday instead of the widely-rumored Friday, Carmen Rojas, an archaeologist with Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History has revealed to the Los Angeles Times."

What about when in 2000 we didn't have a leap day?

Was that taken into account too?

Man, we've passed so many end-of-the-world dates the past 15 years that only a gullible person would believe any of it. Nobody has an accurate prediction of the date something which may or may not happen. If it does happen, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will catch us off-guard.

Nope, no more chances, anyone who bought into that is an idiot. I live among these people, and they are not that smart. Their Shaman's sit around with blood in a styrofoam cup, stirring it with a feather, drunker than skunks, and act like they can fortell the future......pitiful that people fall for this crap! Then make excuses that someone "mis-calculated."

The universe has actually ended. But due to the limited speed of light it will take a long time to get the message into the minds of people. So it could be some time before you realize that you have been annihilated.

This was NEVER an "end of the world" date.

It was an end of a cycle date.

I'm glad you brought this up. Why did their cycle end? I mean their calendar is basically a mathematical system right? Maybe I am wrong but you could use an algorithm to reproduce their calendar right? Then why would the algorithm ever end?

Re: Mistranslation! End of World is tomorrow, not yesterday
all news reports & TV shows in the late 60's & all thru the 70's were definitely saying the mayan end date on the mayan calendar was dec. 25th 2012

They switched the date to dec. 21st 2012 sometime in the early 80's

Interesting that it says it's 144,000 days on Sunday.

139,998 doesn't sound right.
